The Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire relief and development arm called Pamthunzi Anglican Development Program (PADEP) was recently involved in a tree planting exercise held on 19th February, 2016.
This tree-restoration exercise took place at Samama Primary School.
The function was organised by Pamthunzi Anglican Development Program (PADEP) through Love Malawi Plant a Tree initiative. Over 4,000 trees were planted in an effort to establish a community forest.
First Lady Said “The vision of Love Malawi initiative equals that of BEAM Trust where by Planting of Tree will make Malawi beautiful apart from mitigating the impact of climate change.
Bishop Brighton Malasa said “God trusted human beings to take care of nature and environment, however its very sad that human activities are also acting against this order from God hence the Church coming in to join hands with the government of Malawi in addressing effects of Climate change through these long term strategies.
First lady donated US$ 4, 000 towards activities of Love Malawi Plant a Tree Initiative.
