An Anglican priest, Canon Michael Malasa, has donated assorted items to a girl with albinism in Ntcheu district.

The recipient, Nita Chikaonda, 13, a standard seven pupil at Nkhande Full Primary School, has said the items will help her to work hard.

The items include sunscreen lation, pens, exercise books, soap, sun glasses and a hat. Malasa said the items will reduce the suffering that people with albinism face in adverse weather.

He observed that during school days, the girl who walks three kilometres to school is exposed to sunlight more than during holidays when she can choose to stay home.

“She comes from a family that on their own cannot afford to meet most of the things that she would require” said Malasa.

On her part, Chikaonda said she is grateful for the donation and encouragement, and promised better results in subsequent examinations.

” I promise that in my new class i shall continue doing well, the same at church and home, ” She said.

Malasa who is based at All Saints Church at Ntcheu boma, said he dedicated this year’s Anglican Family day for his parish to the girl.
